The Academic Novel

My first academic book, The British and American Academic Novel: The Professorroamane, The Comic Campus, The Tragic Self, will be published as a monograph by Parkgate Press in August, 2011 (under the F Street Books imprint).

Using a historical timeline of influence, the dissertation examines British and American fiction of the twentieth century: novels, short stories and plays all about the lives of professors and students.

Overall, the university is configured, at turns, as essentially tragicomic, beginning as comic but turning darker through the twentieth century. To read more, please click here.
